Skipping Stones
The innocent thing I hurl across the stream.
It skims across the exterior
and glides above the water.
The gray and grainy surface lets
me find peace through this art.
To locate the perfect stone
isn’t easy.
As I explore among millions of other identical
rocks to find the perfect match, I wonder
is this how we find our friends?
Among billions of people who we know,
who we love we uncover happiness.
Everything happens for a reason.
We just don’t know why it happens,
at least not yet.
