A Summer Field
The cherry blossom pinks
and honey yellows
and periwinkle purples
and cornflower blues
and sunset oranges
and snow whites
that dot the fields of green.
The glittering rays of a midsummer sun
that float down to dance
on the silky petals.
The light afternoon rains
and cool morning dew
that leave plump droplets of water
on the tips of the petals and grass.
The slight breezes in the warm air
that softly sway
the limber stems.
Silent beauties
of nature's painting
in a summer field.
