Owl In The Morning Sun
Withered and weak, I found myself wrapped around the folds of my arms.
I was lost: clueless of what to do and where to go.
I was unaware: blinded by fantasies and nightmares.
I disdained myself, but only then did I start to grow wings.
These wings took me to places I’ve never thought of reaching.
The folds became flaps, the withered and weak metamorphosed into an owlet of wisdom.
I have grown. I have been molded behind shadows.
Like an owl traversing the darkness, I was able to keep myself concealed in a cave.
I wasn’t hiding. No. I wasn’t scared.
Maybe I was just finding my innateness. And I did find myself.
I’m not afraid of the light and I will not let it get in my way.
If the sun ever does face me, I’d be brave enough to walk in the radiance of day.
