A Demon Danced

A demon danced in front of me.
It called my name
and asked me to tea.

Perhaps I should have thought it through;
Perhaps I should have simply knew.

But from that moment,
I became
Something more animal than humane.
My blood boils,
Angered at itself.
My mind wages war,
Unable to be contained.

But that is nothing
Compared to how I face the world:
More venom than thought,
More weapon than emotion.

Perhaps I should have thought it through;
Perhaps I should have simply knew.

A demon dances inside of me,
It calls my name
and asks me to tea.

Why I say yes,
You'll never know.
Maybe one day
The symptoms will show.

Until then, yes or no,
"Would you care for a scone?"

I don't even know what inspired me to write this. The words just came to me, so I put them down on paper (or, in this case, my computer).
