My Demands MAG
send me a letter in the mail,
write in cursive,
draw me,
I want to be a garden,
tell me I'm the roses,
I want to know what builds the letters in your name,
what makes you laugh,
what makes you cry,
I'll show you an airplane,
I'll tell you where it's going
and who the people are going to see
and why they felt they needed to leave.
Take a fistful of sand,
hold it up so the light touches each grain,
feel its warmth in your hands,
tell me
there is a grain for each person that loves you,
there is a grain for each person you love,
there is a grain for each person you'll meet,
and there is a grain for each person who dreams that they could.
Put your hands over my eyes,
tell me
everything I see is something in the future that I must worry about.
But above all,
show me I'm not alone,
tell me I'm not alone,
hold my hand,
I'm not alone.
