I remember it like it was yesterday.
You hid in broad daylight right in front of my face.
I didn’t know what I was looking at, never imagined the darkness that followed you.
I’ve never been able to get the words together, so I decided to put them on a page.
So maybe all your questions would be answered, and all my broken statements made.

You Are A Key To My Heart.
They say picture is worth a thousand words, and to that I agree,
but even some pictures can’t find the words to describe how you opened me.
I love your enchanting eyes, as they resemble crystal stars.
Although they’ve tried to kill your spirit,
I still see you fighting faithfully in the war within you,
striving to remain strong and valiant.
Your smile shares life with me,
the wide mysterious gate to a chained heart that no one is permitted to see.
In knowing you I have learned a few things about love,
and some of our experiences have taught me a thing or two.
I learned that love never dies,
never runs, or abandons you.
It whispers songs of tomorrow,
instead of singing the pain of the yesterday you’ve been through.
With you carefully in it’s grasp,
it rocks you gently, making promises that are true.
And warmly turns the page of your fairytale,
as you dream on top of hope’s blue moon.
