Stressful secrets
Night falls but the voices do not decease
Silence is piercing and sleep must not get too deep.
Because nightmares crawl when it is quiet and
Monsters are on the prawl when no ones out to riot.
Creaky floorboards whine
But the doors are fine
When you tickle them open with your fingers,
Their tired moans linger.
Follow me into the night.
We will gently tip toe out of sight,
Before the owl calls
Before the children look down the halls appalled.
Find me and follow me into the night.
Don’t alarm others,
Or they would experience their last fright.
