Untitled
A dark silence settles over the house
Not a creature to be heard
For children can’t play
All the same way
When there is no happiness
Or acceptance for all
A dreary mood lurks from all around
As the dawning day breaks
There are children who play
Every which way
Without happiness
Or acceptance for all
A bitter taste in the air
While it rains on and on
As the children play
Wasting the day
Abandoned by happiness
Or acceptance for all
A sad old tree perched on the lawn
Can’t help but sway in the wind
The children can’t play
When the sun’s away
Without happiness
Or acceptance for all
A man in a trench coat covered in mud
Ruining the grassy lawn
The children won’t play
For they’ll be taken away
For the abstinence of happiness
Or acceptance for all
A lone cry out in the still night
Sounds dry and shatters the dark
The children won’t play
They’ve all been taken away
For the sake of happiness
And acceptance for all.
