Seasons

Hot sun beating down on the pavement
Children’s laughter fills the air.
Cool lemonade’s in our hands,
As we take a dip in the pool.
Ice cream truck coming around the corner
Waiting for all the eager children’s faces.
Summer night’s drift away bringing in the crisp fall.

As the seasons change so do their colors
Yellow and blue skies become red and orange
Green leaves are no more,
As they fall and create a play area for children.
Summer clothes are put away,
The hot weather did not last long.
Cool nights become even cooler as winter nears.

Winter coats and gloves are taken out of storage,
As the freezing weather unveils itself.
Snow falls in time for the holidays,
Leaving all of the children with memories of a White Christmas.
Gooey gumdrops and candy canes are seen all around,
Constantly reminding us of the time of year.
As the snow starts to melt, a long awaited spring is slowly approaching.

Spring is welcomed with blue skies
And flowers in full bloom.
The sun peeks through the clouds,
As birds chirp outside.
The grass becomes green
And trees are no longer bare.
Allergy season is in full swing.
All of this lasts only for a short time as the cycle begins again.
