life and scars and stars
I lay and dream
on a purple ocean
my fingers are white now
from scratching the stars out of the sky
and the scars from your wrist
I loosened the stars
scratched them out of the sky
so they could fall onto my people like
fiery snow
silver and glittering
drifting down as if in water
all around
all around us
I know now
that life is meant to be lived in a dream
if we think too much
we become too solid
and if we become so solid, we cannot fly
or swim through the stars
