Vines creep
You’ll never shake them off
Water seeps
Hard cracks are made soft
Sting hurts
Skin is now bright red
Stained shirts
Don’t put them on the bed

You can trim them,
You can dry them,
You can mend them,
You can try,
But you’ll never truly rid yourself of
thoughts gone awry.
