"Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” — Taylor Swift

wanting to fly away
stop hearing voices
stop being controlled

wanting freedom
stop searching for it
stop yearning for what isn’t there

wanting life
stop staying put
stop not living

become what you want
who you want
whatever you want

an owl
feathers grow
prick out of your skin
eyes become luminous
glowing
wings made for
soaring

finally free
flying

night eyes searching
picking out details
waiting for movement
just waiting

there it is

you soar down
and kill it

it makes you happy

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable. -Bruce Lee

Usually I pick titles that are a line in the poem, but this was inspired by a short story in a book, which is where I got the idea for the title, though I didn't incorporate it into the poem.

Um, this was interesting. But, where does the title fit into it? It was fairly well written, I personally like capitalizing but that's just me. Continue to write, it's great practice. If I came off as mean, I apologize.
