"We stop looking for monsters under our bed when we realize they're inside of us"

1
Time has passed since I last stared into your eyes
2
It’s as if the blue in your eyes sank to a deep black
3
You’re not who I once saw you as
4
Your smile has faded
5
Your candle lit charm is going away since you are standing in a storm
6
At the cross road,
7
Choices were turning left or heading right
8
You chose to cheat and walk straight through
9
An evil grew in the eyes of one so pure and true that now even those who gave what was their all
10
Can’t recognize the child they loved
11
A dark soul, tormented and shrouded in the smog smoke of sin
12
He is a wolf
13
Alone in this world
14
Hunting for his own meals while those around him are fed well in groups
15
He chooses not to eat since weight will slow him down.
16
When time to rest arrives,
17
He is tortured by the screaming of memories and the taunting of trees since he can’t see in the dark, he doesn’t know who will hunt him next
18
He fends for himself but he fights for those around him
19
He is a shadow
20
Seen in the day ,yet no one knows where he goes in the dark
21
He scares away all those who want to talk
22
He pushes away those who follow him
23
Unless revealed to the light you can’t see his every move
24
The fog that rolls in is a sign that he is up to no good
25
Never seen in stores
26
But still manages to get all he needs
27
He is a rock
28
A being of no emotion or feeling
29
Pain is something he knows and isn’t fond of but chooses not to wear it
30
He hangs his head low beneath the weight of his shoulders
31
If one were to come and bring him to his knees
32
He won’t apologize
33
He won’t beg
34
He will only laugh since the pain one would attempt to cause him, He has caused worse
35
Lit pain between his finger tips
36
Dark sorrows in his eyes
37
But add a wink and a half smile to the mix
38
Flash of a camera and an “Upload to Facebook” button and who could tell the difference if the pain in his heart is tearing away at his very existence
39
As he looks in the mirror, He realizes
40
He is Me

This is just a piece I put together and it shows that not everything you see on a person's face is how they really are. If they're smiling, but in their eyes if something seems wrong, there could be
