The Grim Soldier

He walks through time
Grasping moments
in the palm of one hand;
shining scythe in the other
Thrashing seconds upon
seconds of precious life
He is an eclipsed moon,
a wandering eye.
The Grim Soldier;
taking his sweet time
to take away yours
A flicker in the night,
a lost flame, wandering,
burning inside us all
we all feel a little death
when we all hear the sirens call
