We met in school,
Neither of us were very cool
I loved her ever since our friendship had begun
But she always just called me companion

High School came
Our friendship was never the same
She had finally blossomed her beauty
And I wasn't even a cutie

I then tried to ask her out
But she would look at me and my courage would fail without-a-doubt
I just couldn't end our glorious friendship
With a slip that would cause a horrible courtship

I tried again when we were twenty
Again I failed, her friendship was plenty
I had always hoped that we would marry
But my faltering courage made me tarry

Now she died last week in a car crash
The driver of the other car was very rash
I cried for her like a child
The whole thing was very wild

At the funeral I cried again
Her parents came over and asked if I was one of their clansmen
I told them no
And said that I had probably better go

They bid me stay
I wasn't in the way
They asked my name
When I told them
They said it was such a shame

A shame, how I asked
They told me that her love was finally unmasked
“Her love?” I said
“Yes.” and now she is dead

Her parents told me that every day when asked what was on her mind
The same thing was what they would find
I asked, “What was it, it seems to good to be true.”
They told me, “It was you

Everyday they told her to forget me
And she told them that she would rather be crushed by a tree
Her life was in mayhem
Especially when she told them,

We met in school,
Neither of us were very cool
I loved him ever since our friendship had begun
But he always just called me companion

thanks,  I was kind of going for the more juvenile sound, it makes it seem sadder somehow, kind of like the person can't use better words

This is really cute! In a sad way XD. I like the effort you took to make this right, but sometimes it sounded a little elementary. But that's my only criticism, I really love this! 5 stars :P
