Hello?
are you there?
can you see me?
do you care?
of course not,
I'm alone,
I'm drowning in my own sea of tears,
grasping onto the fierce winds,
the only breath you allow me to have,
shivering from the chill in the air,
the cold glances I get when you look my way,
and surviving on the single thread of hope I still have stored inside of me,
hope that one day I will be heard above the noise,
seen through my brown skin.
and understood through the words that escape my lips.
