"Poetry sucks only to the ones that don't understand it."

Before I started dating her,
I was untouchable.
No one messed with me.
No one said s*** to or about me.
I was just an ordinary kid living through middle school.

Then I started dating her…
Things changed.
I got soft.
I let people do anything,
As long as they didn't hurt her.
I didn't care about anything except her.

In time,
I slipped up.
I fell but all that was there was her.
She grew more and more in my heart.

Then it happened.
It was like ripping your own heart out.
It was terrible.
When it ended,
I had nothing.

I didn't know who I was.
I just lived, trying to fill the void.
But nothing worked…
Except for one thing,
Even that wasn't going well.

When I found someone,
Who I wanted to fill the void,
She wanted no part of it.
Today I realized all this.
I’m just an ordinary kid living middle school.

This poem came to mind when I was thinking about middle school back when I went there.. about the time I had loved someone. (talks about a guy liking a girl btw in the poem)
