Stars
Stars
The scars have faded,
But the memories have not.
She lies awake at night,
Silent tears streaming down her face.
“Tonight is the night” she whispers,
The night to end the pain,
The night to go,
Where the troubled souls go.
This time,
The wind will carry her cries away,
mix and mingle them with others.
So many people,
Suffering.
Looking for an escape,
Some find one,
Others don’t.
This girl didn’t,
No matter how hard she tried,
Nothing helped.
And in the end,
she was too far gone,
Words didn’t reach her.
And she left this world,
Sad,
Broken,
But left behind a legacy,
And a boy,
A boy who now has a broken heart,
And last night,
While the moon was high in the sky,
He went to be with his darling girl.
Now they’re high in the sky.
When you look at the sky at night,
You’ll see them,
Shining brightly.
Stars.
