"I am this fiery snail crawling home"- Bukowski

It wasn’t until I was running hysterical in the rain
Through the parking lot of the emergency room
That I realized I have found myself in flames
More often than I have found myself in anything else

When I first saw you I could basically tell
You were a burning building
Taking it upon yourself to light up every surrounding thing
Accidentally singeing the eyebrows off of every person
Who leaned in too close to you
Who lost themselves to that way you burn through any mess
But leave a feeling of hope and beginning in your war path with the abundance
Of absence
Of everything else

I think though-
That we are bond by something that is bigger than both of us
I have never met someone that I felt so intrigued by
Like if I had two minutes left to live I would spend
One minute and fifty nine seconds looking at you and trying to figure out
Which wheels turned what knobs in your brain

I know though-
You are bond by a different set of chains than I am
Let me say though-
If you would just let me hear me out
Things might end up differently
I mean if you squint and look at life upside down
We really don’t have much to lose
Except our sanity which is virtually useless these days

I think though-
That losing ourselves to your fire
May singe off our eyebrows
And peel our skin
But it will never ever break our bones
Or fracture our knees
As we search through the remnants
Covered in dirt
And let everything we don’t need slip
Through our fingers and onto wet pavement
While I dance to this f***ed up song with God
Through the parking lot of the emergency room
