“Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.”

― Mary Oliver

Their jaws are filled with words
of possible sins that still manage
to cut into their cheeks,
drawing blood.

these words are deplorable;
they are so cold - yet they're
spoken with a heated hatred that forges
the iron fists in their eyes

i wore a different face,
and saw the world as decayed as it was:
handfuls of minutes,
memories that form in the creases of time,

like forgotten forms of light,
which have fallen from their grace,
consumed by blind and hollow things.

"If you build your house far enough away from Trouble, then Trouble will never find you."

"Have you ever looked fear in the face and said, 'I just don't care.'?"

This is amazing, so powerful and deep.
