Diamond
The strum of his hand,
The wave of the guitar,
singing so gracefully,
said the lady gazed from afar.
he was a beauty, covered with fur.
Needed a touchup,
spoke with a slight slur.
He was quite scruffy and stunk,
but to fix all of that was not hard.
I had a life everyone wanted,
filled with money sky-high.
I make more than most will have in their entire lifetime.
With a eight figure salary,
I can afford any land.
I have crystal blue eyes, and platinum blonde hair—
that can be seen cascading down my back.
With my Chanel bag, and my Louis Vuitton clothes.
With a little bite to eat, fills her up.
I had what everyone wanted,
but not a single ounce of self-esteem that I can call my own.
A millionaire husband, a Ralph Lauren model.
With six-pack abs, brunette hair and the greenest eyes you have ever seen.
He actually reminds me of Jacob on Twilight!
Every woman in the world is jealous.
He seems like a gentleman, by the way he presents himself.
But behind the closed doors…
all you want to do is give him a slap.
My husband…the tone of his voice, the attitude given daily.
The way he thrusts himself against me
and plays his ukulele.
Imagine yourself in my position,
with a husband with everything that a girl wants.
Or with a crush on a homeless man,
playing with his beat-up guitar.
I wish I could just leave this man and run away to the hills.
Across the busy, snow-covered streets in downtown Seattle.
I started to converse with the homeless man,
learned many things about him.
Why did he end up on the streets?
and his lifelong battle of fame.
He had a beautiful story,
as we talked at the nearest coffee shop.
He had a wife Caroline,
He was very wealthy
and had a salary more than I can imagine.
He was a singer, sold many albums.
The funny part is that he also resembled Neil Diamond.
He told me about his favorite songs, movies, etc.
He told me about writing a song for his wife, Sweet Caroline.
He told me how he fell hard for her,
her beautiful golden locks and her amber colored eyes.
Never ever thought that she would end up dying.
She had a short life, never had kids.
Time was cut short when she was killed by flying.
Months went on.
and I still met the same man everyday.
We went to the same place for coffee.
I was falling for this man.
Even with the suspicion of my husband.
I did not care. I wanted to file for divorce,
but I know he would win. I regret it…
I know I should have signed that prenup.
Never would I think that this was not real.
The emotions, the time spent with him.
Honey… Honey… Are you there?
Is everything okay? I heard some baby crying.
Would you like to talk about it?
Nah… just keep your mouth shut.
Excuse me sir, but you should not treat a lady like this.
She is far too beautiful for you, for me, for everyone in this sick place.
Just because she is on a ventilator and could be dying
Still does not give you a reasonable cause.
The man who said this, seemed far too familiar to me.
He had a nurse’s outfit on,
but there was something still creepy to me.
He sure did look like a man in my dreams,
Jacob from Twilight? or was it Neil Diamond?
It was quite hard to tell.
Never knew a dream can make someone,
make someone…
fall for someone so hard.
