"You know what 'normal' is? A setting on a washing machine. No one wants to be that."- Ashley Purdy

Sorrow is woven through us
Dyed with its own color
They burn darkly and beautifully
But they still burn.

We have selves
You are a pursuing ghost
Some nexus of one’s being
Flatter your vanity

I am impatient
Marred and transfigured
So little for other people
Throwing me lifelines from their grave

This is a found poem. I used lines from a lecture in Christian Wiman's book, My Bright Abyss. He writes beautifully in a way that his lectures sound like poetry. It's almost as if he has forgotten how to write in any way other than poetic. I would recommend his work- it is enlightening.
