Tell Me Your Secrets
They are clamoring,
Pounding,
Scarring the tip of my tongue.
These little demons
That were once whispers
Are now a curse
And I cannot fight the pain any longer.
They stab the sides of my throat
As I yearn to breathe them out.
No, I cannot fathom the constant
Echo that pains my heart.
Make it stop.
I am no longer
Capable of carrying these burdens.
They live in my mind and rupture my soul.
Please,
Take them from me.
Release me from this tragic prophecy of promise.
Free me from these ties to which I am bound.
Unveil the meaning
Of such terrible monsters.
Listen to me as I try to speak,
As I try to tell you
That secrets are the devilish words
That can never escape the mouth.
