"Just Keep Swimming"

My collar bones, ribs, and hip bones all stick out

But my eyes are sunken in.
My thighs have a gap between them

But my face is so swollen.
I’m starting to thin out

But so is my hair.
I can fit in my clothes from junior high

But I still don’t feel like I fit in at school.
I feel strong because I don’t eat

But my muscles are getting so weak.
I feel in control of my life

But I fear I might end up dead.

This piece was inspired by a friend of mine going through a very hard time. I tried to view things from her perspective, and wrote this poem to express how I felt.
