The Bullet

Sometimes it’s hard to breathe
Like a bullet is lodged
in the left side of my right lung
And sometimes
it’s hard to smile
because for a second my lips remember
what used to be pressed against them when I felt sad
All of them
They’re screaming that they love you
And you will soon realize that what matters
is if you love yourself enough
to stop the bullet
3 seconds before it hits the spot
