Drunk and Heartbroken
Though Christmas time is near,
I sit by the fire with an ice-cold beer,
To drink away the pain and sorrow,
in hopes that all the memories will be gone tomorrow.
I sit here wallowing in yesterday’s clothes,
because I am unsure of what to do with myself, nobody knows.
What am I supposed to do with a love like that?
Every time I try to win her over, it seems to fall just a little flat.
I can still feel her touch lingering on my skin,
her lips pressed to mine where they have recently no longer been.
