The Radio and an Easy Smile
I hate those songs that remind me so much of him
That look that plays across his face on a whim
I hate that it’s not me causing you to smile so
Maybe I better just give up everything and go
Moving on seems like such impossibility
It’s the only choice I have; yet it’s so lonely
Just thinking about you brings tears to my eyes
I don’t know how to forget you, but I must try
Just take one single step, pull in a deep breath
Tell myself it’s a new day, to start over fresh
I say I see a single ray of shining hope
That’s the only way more me to try to cope
I sneak a quick glance and see that easy smile
It makes me wonder just how many a mile
Will it take me to forget how you made me feel
I know that now things are fake, but we were real
I stare hopelessly and prepare myself to go
Turning up one of those songs on the radio
