"I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity" - Edgar Allen Poe

Her eyes glow with red hot anger
As a murderous rage sets in
No enemies can stand
In her way, she is untouchable
But once she returns to her senses
The depression returns to her troubled mind
And the thoughts of suicide return
So she sits down at her tiny laptop and types
Yet another plea for the assistance of the brave
The help of the trusted and trustworthy
Only those that find the way into
Her heavily guarded mindscape
Can help her win this war
Right now she’s losing, and the price of defeat
Is her own fragile life
Protect her from the inevitable ending
Of this senseless faerie tail
This gory tail of agony
Her pitiless life story
She implores you to lend her your help
Your aid, your unwavering support
As she fights the monstrous foe she cannot defeat alone
The foe she must defeat to save her life
Lies that are meant as a small comfort
Hurt more than the ever-so-harsh truth
She’s not going to be alright
A lone warrior cannot win a war that continues for eternity
Against an invincible enemy that does not tire, does not stop
Bashing her hopes and her faith against the rocks of cold reality
She’s worthless, hopeless, future less, as good as dead
And soon she will be
If you won’t fight beside her
