translucent MAG
i tried once to pull the pieces of me
outwards until i was completely
inside out, but i soon realized that
no matter how many times i turned
myself around and out, everything
was still the same.
there were no disguises i could bear
to keep; there were no roles i found
fitting to play. and as i turned
in desperate circles, i realized that we
are given what we have for a reason
and maybe it isn't all
so bad.
we just have to see in ourselves
what is so clear to everybody else;
that the same admiration we fling
without a second thought
could be spent on the reflection that
perhaps we don't appreciate
enough
