The Shard Wedged In My Heart
A sliver of ice embedded in my heart
Sprinkled throughout,
Some cold, some pain.
They gather together in one tiny shard,
Wedged in tight inside my heart,
But then, there are the warm glows
From the suns that live around me-
They fill my life with joy-
They slowly melt away the pain,
So warm, so calm so HAPPY.
So happy as to make one forget...
Forget the shard wedged in your heart,
Long enough to melt it some.
Until.
Until they bring the dark again,
The winter's storm will never end,
Unless they fill my heart with light:
All shall be lost,
The pain too great
Too great to bare.
Each cutting word a snowflake-
A tiny crystal-
Added on to the shard wedged in my heart.
