Dear Jeffrey,

You might not know this but when you came home all wrapped up in baby blue,
I looked at you and my heart jumped and I still don’t have a clue,
About what I was thinking or what I was doing but I know that all I said
Was, “This is my new baby brother.”, and my auntie nodded her head.
And ever since then,
From 5 to 10,
You started to look like me.
And people still come up to me and ask, “How old is he? 13?”
I say, “No 11, he’s only 11; he just came from being 10!”
They say, “Oh he looks a whole lot older and he could be your twin!”
I say, “Yeah, I know.”
“That’s my little bro.”,
“What did you guys expect?”
He gets almost everything from me, from looks to dialect!

Remember that time we were at the church and I wanted to be alone?
You followed me out, you came to me, and you acted like you’re grown.
And though it seemed like I didn’t care and still tried to push you away,

You comforted me and made me laugh; I knew you were here to stay.

Now…

It seems like it was yesterday,
When all I wanted to do was play,
With dolls and dirt and things outside,
Remember I’d seek and you would hide?
But now you’re almost in your teens,
And me, I just turned seventeen!
I look back and see how much we’ve grown,
How I am now driving, you’re getting a phone!
Although I tend to drift away,
And stay in my room when you want to play,
I’ll always love you with all my heart,
And you were my brother from the start.

Love your big sister forever and always,
CiCi ?
