The clock struck twelve
Before the magic ever happened,
Just to let us know
Who has control and how quickly fate can turn, it shows its hand,
Spinning,
And I took it with my own two,
Twisting Chance's mangled arms behind
Its back
To give me one more chance with you,
Because I know that if I can somehow make it
"The Beginning"
Again, the magic can return to this fairytale
With a happily ever
After,
And I'm so fortunate to have found you
Despite these odds—
But Chance,
Though cruelly stubborn and arbitrarily contrived,
Though it fought against us,
In The End it made us stronger, and it brought us
Together.

Haha, the meaning is very specific to my personal life, so I don't know if you'll find the meaning, but feel free to interpret it your way. Thanks (:

First dentistry was painless.
Then bicycles were chainless,
Carriages were horseless,
And many laws enforceless.

Next cookery was fireless,
Telegraphy was wireless,
Cigars were nicotineless,
And coffee caffeineless.

Soon oranges were seedless,
The putting green was weedless,
The college boy was hatless,
The proper diet fatless.

New motor roads are dustless,
The latest steel is rustless,
Our tennis courts are sodless,
Our new religion — godless.

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.” ― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones   dunno why that came to mind, but it did:/   excellent poem though. i need to read it a few more times to decide what it means though...
