I Am a Piece of Something
The hands that wrap around me fill me with glee,
That keep me safe and secure
Yet I am bound and burdened,
I am a piece of
something Bigger.
Life faced with hardships of love and disgust,
Wondering if the ways I’ve turned were right.
But do you know what’s in my heart and mind?
I am a piece of something Unique.
Adjustable and accommodating for those who can’t reach
I feel the need to stop and breathe
Thoughts of you holding and caring for me are frightening
I am a piece of something Great.
Disease came upon me like a fire in a forest
I was scared, shaken and torn,
But pain endured can cause a spark of change.
I am a piece of something New.
Struggles between my life and family,
Has made me unique and vigorous
Everything I’ve been through reflects who I am
I am a piece of something.
