Don’t beat yourself up
it’s not your fault
some things just aren’t
meant to be.
I hear these words over
and over again. It’s him
Not you she says to me
One day you’ll finally see.
Every ugly word
Every visible scar
Your heart is holding
On by a thread. This time
It’s been taken too far
Once it’s all over
He takes a look at
the damage that he’s
done. He takes a look at the hideous bruises
only lit by the beautiful sun.
