"I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you don't deserve me at my best."
-Marilyn Monroe

I am invisible
Alone in dead silence
My only
Characteristic

They walk by
Step on me
Like a mat
To wipe your feet on

They knock me down
Push me down
And don’t even realize
I do but I am invisible

They don’t laugh
Or stare
They just walk by
Because I am invisible

I have learned to hide
Blend in
It hurts
I pretend I don’t notice

My parents
Don’t notice
No friends
Trapped, I am

I know a lot of things
Through thick and thin
Can I break through the walls
No.
Because I am invisible

The author's comments:
This poem is about feeling disliked and invisible. I believe it is important to not let your feelings get the best of you. It is also important to find your voice because you matter. The person in my poem is still having trouble doing that. I hop you like it!
