If all else perished and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger.
-- Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights

I've made a world all my own
For lack of anything better to do.
Now I can't leave, you see,
For nothing can be made out of me.
I exist here, scribbling
A design of recurrent themes,
All useless, trapped inside the limits
Of four lovely walls.
It's easy to live here,
Preserved for years,
Existing and existing
Like a dead thing in a jar.
Tiny centureies pass by,
And one day I really could die,
And it would be a pity
To never know what was outside.
My world is no longer lovely,
No longer useful,
At least not to me.

Continuing my theme of isolation. Living in my own little world has been the story of my life.

A little while ago you asked a question about my poem labled "Painful Confession" and I wanted to answer you. It's about my father and I and how when I told him how I felt everything fell apart. It's ultimately about putting myself out there and having it blow up in my face.

I really like this poem. I think the last line is so awesome! How this world used to be everything to you where every possibility could come true but in the end what you really created for yourself was a cage and you shackled your own wrists! I love it!
