your room, glass in hand, the night after you graduated
emptying this little green fruit of its substance
you stole a cutting board from downstairs to cut it up
bitter juniper rememberings slip fizzy down our throats
and i don't cry
when it hits me like a sunset
that our days of youth together are at the beginning of their end
these drinks we have together are already evaporating
in our hands

Short but spectacular like always. At first, I was lost. But I re-read it. And understood you were talking about drinking. I relate to this, since I graduated this year. Which just makes me feel old as h*ll. The title captured me from the start (you have a niche for picking great titles). I feel the emotion in it. And I love the last two lines "these drinks we have together are already evaporating/in our hands". I can see it and feel it. Awesome poem, literary sister.
