fame devoured me whole
as if i were bite-sized
and picked the remains
staining her spotless teeth
with a toothpick
she washed me down
with a glass
of inexpensive wine
while sampling someone else

I super happy you liked it too. Fame does destroy people if they aren't careful. Fame can be great but deadly altogether. We've seen it in many celebrities. Thanks, Jade, for the feedback.

I like how you twisted the idea of fame corrupting people, as if they were somehow a victim of fame. Which I think is entirely true. I liked this poem a lot, and  I'm glad the editors did too :) Good job! 5/5

Thank you very much. I completely agree with you. If you're not careful, fame will eat you up entirely. It's done it to so many people already.

I really like this poem because it is very bittersweet. It is brutally honest, but it has a casual tone to it. Good job!
