I need to learn to let things go,
so I can become unaffected
Insults would fly over my head
and harsh words would be deflected

The problem is,
I care too much
I’ve begun to cling to every word
My heart breaks oh-so-easily
at all the hatred I have heard

One day I will find the balance
that will sew me up and make me whole
I will care,
but never crumble
And I’ll be just as strong as my soul
