its only in the dark when you can see the light

The tide of time, sent me a heartrending memorandum,
As it streamed in every tick-tock of the pendulum;
The verity had shattered me, crushed me,
It had trampled and traumatized me.
It had slaughtered me as if a bait,
Trapped in the web of an exceedingly mournful fate.
The decree of time was not to be disrespected
Nor disobeyed and had to be abided
By all mortals, as me
And sufferers, as he.

Time determined all’s fate
With not a soul but the god as his mate.
It was the despot, a monarch and even a murderer
The decider of the fate of its devotees and worshipers,
As well as to those who disregard it
And are ill-bred to it.

He lay on his bed
Not saying as if was shy for being newly wed
There was a blank look on his visage
What a sage!
Worshipping the very thing
Who was to be murderer of his own being!
Soon time conveyed me away
To some secluded far land and I continue to play
The act of a host to the despot
Until, in the web, I was caught.

MY grandfather had died recently. He always was religious even though it is actually God that took him. Soon i noticed time was making my remembrance of him vague. So, this is my poem in the memory of my grandfather.
