Untamable
She weeps
She's hurt
She feels betrayed
It hurts
A lot
It does
Her pain is mine
I share her grief
I share her past
How long shall it last?
The fires are untamable
"It's too hot" I say
"Please, please let me go"
"No," she whispers in my ear
"For this my pain, for this my grief
None shall save you from relief"
I lay my head against the embers
praying that it's all a dream
The flames burns painfully into my face
Why am I at such disgrace
Black and dead my face becomes
Soon it won't be just my face
A corpse, a corpse I will be
Is this really me?
Did I deserve this?
No one deserves to be in this awful place
The cage shakes and I begin to quiver
"Take me home, take me home" I cry closing my eyes
You shake me violently
I slowly open
The cage is gone
The fire is out
A dream, I think
"Get ready," you say, "Time to start a new day"
My flesh is clear, maybe it was a dream
I touch my face
You hear a scream like no other
Silence
Corpse black
New day
