I Am Not...
I am not a statistic.
I am not a number on a graph.
I am not a theory.
I am not an equation.
I am not just a figure,
taken,
experimented.
My GPA doesn't define who I am.
Overshadowed by the looming darkness
of Harvard and Yale.
My statistics mean nothing to them.
But why,
why should that define me?
I am more than just a number,
I am unique.
I am more than just a statistic,
I have a brain and a mind to dream.
I am more than a theory,
I have it all in my head.
I am not an equation,
Two plus two does not equal me.
I am not just a figure,
I am more than that.
I am me,
And for that,
I am special.

I wrote this because I think that the world needs to learn that not everyone can go to Harvard, Yale, or Stanford. People are people, they are not a computer.

Great poem! I feel like it flows better from "I am more than a number, I am unique," down except for the lines  "I have a brain and a mind to dream" and "two plus two does not equal me." I like the message too; there are people in my school who need to learn that!
