The sirens of suicide stalk through the streets,
hunger ablaze in their eyes
Light like fire,
smoky and sharp,
they shriek their piercing cries

They move as strays throughout the dark,
calling their prey near
The victims move as if possessed,
faces pale with fear

The sirens give the prey a smile,
chaos curled and horrid
They lament life’s a bitter tragedy
and how we all must pay for it

And then they whisper secrets
of a world that’s filled with light
Where nothing’s ever awful,
simply beautiful and bright

They speak in hushed soft voices
so the prey is forced to strain
Longing for an escape
that could ease their aching pain

The prey goes falling forward
while everything turns white
Sirens catch them with graceful ease,
marveling at the sight

Hearts tumble through the air
as bodies turn to mist
Emotion glows,
even though
pain laces the surface

So the sirens steal this source of light
to feed on the abuse
They gaze at the carcass and wonder
‘Whatever was its use?’
