Defined
They say we define ourselves,
by what we wear,
how we smell,
what we say,
and so on, but in reality,
everyone else is defining US.
They think,
that they can have an opinion,
about our hair,
or our breast size,
and they take it to the heart,
in a game of tearing civilization,
down.
They bring us to our knees,
in our moments of weakness,
the strong,
stand their ground,
as their beauty waves in place of a flag.
No one deserves the pain that is brought,
but we all endure it,
until we can endure no longer.
Does it make them feel good to hurt us,
to scar us with their sharp tongues,
we don't know for sure,
so we cling to one another,
in hope that one day,
they might see,
how their words and actions,
tear young women apart,
and destroy everything that's in us.
