Favorite Quote:
She reads books as one would breathe air, to fill up and live. ~ Anne Dillard

Sorting items, finding items.
"Mom, look what I found!"
Donating items, throwing away items.
"I won't miss that one bit!"
Packing boxes, heavy boxes.
"I think I broke my back!"
Goodbye old neighbors, hello new neighbors.
"I promise to write!"
Goodbye fond memories, hello new adventures.
"We'll have a grand time!"
Goodbye familiar places, hello strange places.
"You might get lost once or twice."
Moving is hard, we'll miss old places.
"You might get sad and cry."
But then again, it can be fun to see the adventures ahead.

The author's comments:
This poem was inspired by my most recent move in January. I know a lot about moving considering I have moved from North Carolina to Texas to Rhode Island to Massachusetts. My first move I was a little girl and was devastated and cried for days. My second move I was excited because of the anticipation of someplace far away. My third, fourth, and fifth move were all close together in time and distance so there wasn't as much emotion as my first and second move.
