shine

in the soft warm
after understanding each
other just a little better
and it began to rain
little grey kisses
on cold cement
melting the final
untold
affection between
maybe it's a little too
late or
too early
to tell
but as the gentle slate sky
of a summer's
beginning sets gently
in the inlet's arms
I will lean
into your invisible
comfortable presence
and
think of how you
shine
