Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

Let's replace the common people
with the figure of a candle.

Each person truly his own work of wax,
disfigured and perfected by one's facts.

Let's replace the common mood
now together we will brood
over something infectious like Anger
when one is lit, so is another.

Oh, how simple life could be
If candles were philosophy.

All of us fave failed to match our dream of perfection. I rate us on the basis of our splendid failure to do the impossible. -William Faulkner

This is a great poem!! It's short and simple and yet is so complicated and though-provoking that it could easily be pulled apart into an essay or even a philosophy of a sort. There is a hint of a genius at work within short amounts of work and this one poem expresses that idea!
