"I wish I could throw off the thoughts which poison my happiness. And yet I take a kind of pleasure in indulging them." Frederic Chopin

The space between us is like an ocean to a sea
But since day one, I knew that you never wanted to be with me
Missing all my calls, and not replying to my texts
Always leaving me wondering for us what’s next
Wanting to always see you, but you didn’t care
I guess the feelings that you had, wasn’t really there
And all those nights I stayed up thinking about you and me
I know now there is no you and me, that means that we were never meant to be
We are definitely drifting apart, but not forcefully
But when we break, I know that you will finally be happy
You can go off with that other girl, and smile to your heart’s content
I know you probably won’t think about me, but on my heart you left an imprint
Of what I though was love and real, but what we had was for show and appeal
The other girl won’t have to stay up all night and wait for your messages and calls
Because I know that the next girl, will get your all
Something that I will now never be able to experience, and trust me, that makes all the difference
I always knew from the way you kissed me that you were holding back
Was it beauty, smarts, or charm that I lacked?
In the up in coming days we will drift away even more
Or maybe things could change, who knows what’s in store
Or will the wind blow away our love, like it does the sand and dust
Or will we will stay together; will there continue to be an “us”?
