We sit around a table and we talk about God
as though we need to impress him with
the way our sentences fly from our tongues.
But if he calls for
a world of men who follow a definition of love
and world of women holding themselves to a
standard of purity that doesn't exist,
then I would rather caress his
worn out knuckles and
let him know that he is stuck in the labyrinth
just like the rest of us.
