"Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present." --Marcus Aurelius

nothing like a hometown
slipping in silently
two am tired as
nobody noticing
familiar soft breathing
as families sleeping
in homes I know…
gently…
the world a bit wider
in moonlight behind me
doors closed like mountains
or mountains like doors
and the soft heavy sky
a blue lover above me
wearing diamonds or
angels or pearls
so i’ll find my way quietly
in a world that will welcome me
home when it wakes
on a soft bed of dawn,
gently…
the world a bit wider
in memory behind me
and everyone waiting
for something.

Just exceptional. You're phenomenal. And I'll never get tired of saying that. I know you'll make it when you're older in this writing industry. If no one else, I know you will. This is just wow. The metaphor of the sky being a lover is one that I'm like cr*p-why-didn't-I-come-up-with-that-one. Impeccable.

I think I understand the meaning of life now-- and it is this poem.
